THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
The Good News to Unbelievers Concerning Jesus Christ’s Sacrifice on Your Behalf
“What do you think about the Christ (the Messiah)?”
But God (the Father) demonstrates His own (unconditional) love toward us (all mankind), in that while we were yet sinners (as unbelievers), (the Lord Jesus) Christ died for us.
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
For as in (union with) Adam all die (spiritually)…so also in (union with) Christ all will be made (spiritually) alive (born again).
For He Himself (the Lord Jesus Christ) is our peace, who made both groups (Jews and Gentiles) into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall…
For He (God the Father) rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son (the Lord Jesus Christ),//in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
The Lord is not slow about His promise (of a chance at salvation), as some count slowness (as some accuse), but (the Lord) is patient toward you (unbelievers), not wishing for any to perish (in the Lake of Fire) but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about the Lord Jesus Christ).
(The Lord) Jesus Christ said, “I am the way (to salvation), (I am) the truth (through the Word of God) and (I am) the (eternal) life; no one comes to the Father, but through (believing in) Me.”
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and (everyone in) your household (who also believes).
“He (anyone) who believes in the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has eternal life...but he who does not obey (the command to believe in) the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) will not see (eternal) life (in heaven) but the wrath of God (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”
And I give eternal life to them (believers in Christ), and they (believers) shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them (believers) out of My hand.
But if (1) it (salvation) is by grace (and it is), it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace (a free gift) is no longer grace (a free gift).
And he (the repentant thief) was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”
And He (the Lord Jesus Christ) said to him (the repentant thief), “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
TODAY’S STUDY
The New Man is IN THE SPIRIT
Now He who prepared us for this very purpose (the Zoe Life) is God (the Father), who gave to us the (indwelling of God the Holy) Spirit as a pledge (of our inheritance…as a guarantee of our salvation).

Almost everyone has felt the Holy Ghost at some time. But there is a difference between experiencing the occasional influence of the Holy Ghost and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Although the Holy Ghost may temporarily comfort someone or reveal truth to them, the gift of the Holy Ghost is reserved for those who have been baptized and confirmed into Christ’s Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). This gift is the privilege of enjoying the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost conditional upon keeping the commandments.
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property…
…and kept back some of the price for himself (instead of giving it all to the church as promised), with his wife’s full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles’ feet.
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled (pleroo) your heart to lie to (God) the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land?”
“While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but (you have lied) to God.”
Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God…
…who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not (servants) of the letter (the law) but (servants) of (God) the (Holy) Spirit; for the letter (of the law) kills, but (God) the (Holy) Spirit gives (the Zoe) life (the resurrection life).

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE SOVEREIGN GOD
But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart (the hearts of Jewish people who do not believe in Christ)…
…but whenever a person turns to the Lord (Jesus Christ for salvation), the veil is taken away.
Now the Lord is (God) the (Holy) Spirit, and where the (Holy) Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
But we (believers in Christ) all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image (as God) from (the SOURCE of) glory to (reflected) glory, just as from the Lord, (God) the (Holy) Spirit.

“But the Helper (the parakletos), (God) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you (the) all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
For this reason I (Paul) too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints…
…do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers…
…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.
So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh (the Old Man), to live according to the flesh —
…for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if (1) by the Spirit you (live, and you do, believers, and you) are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live (the resurrection life…the Zoe Life).
For all who are being led by the (Holy) Spirit of God (our Mentor), these are sons of God.
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
The (Holy) Spirit (of God) Himself testifies with our (human) spirit that we are children of God…
…and if (1) children (and we are, then we are), heirs also, heirs of God (the Father) and fellow heirs with Christ, if (1) indeed we suffer with Him (Christ…and we do) so that we may also be glorified
with Him.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
For the flesh sets its desire against (God) the (Holy) Spirit, and the Spirit (sets its desire against ) against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things
that you please.
But if (1) you (believers in Christ) are led by (God) the (Holy) Spirit (and you are), you are not under the (Mosaic) Law.
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT’S ACTIONS ON YOUR BEHALF ARE NOT CONDITIONAL
“THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says…
“AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I (God the Holy Spirit) WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
…is God
…is Sovereign
…has ministries to serve us
…acts on us
…is not conditional
…but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
For to us God (the Father) revealed them (the depths) through (God) the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
