Therefore let us (believers in Christ) be diligent to enter that rest (with faith…total dependence on God through obedience to His Word), so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience (as Israel and unbelievers follow…having faith only in themselves).
For the word of God is living (alive) and active (powerful) and sharper than any two-edged sword, and (the Word of God is) piercing as far as the division of soul(ishness) and (that which is) spirit(ual), of both joints and marrow (the inner being life), and (is) able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And there is no creature (nor a creature’s motives that are) hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) with whom we have (much) to do.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, (the Lord) Jesus (Christ) the Son of God, let us (believers in Christ) hold fast our confession (which is the profession of our faith in God through our priesthood).
For we do not have a high priest (in the Lord Jesus Christ) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but (we have) One (a high priest) who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet (who is) without sin (the Lord was never sucked in by a lying temptation from the kingdom of darkness).
Therefore let us (believers in Christ) draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and (so that we may) find grace to help in time of need.
But now faith, hope, love, abide (in the sphere of) these three; but the greatest of these is (unconditional) love.
Remind them (all believers in Christ of how to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which they have been called, which is) to be subject to rulers, to (be subject to) authorities, to be obedient (both to rulers and authorities), to be ready for every (divine) good deed (reflecting the fruit of the Spirit)…
…to malign no one, to be peaceable, (to be) gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
For we (Paul) also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared (in action, by means of the Cross)…
He (the Lord Jesus Christ) saved us (all mankind…whosoever), not on the basis of deeds which we have done in (self) righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and (by the) renewing by the Holy Spirit…
…whom He (God the Father) poured out upon us (beginning on the day of Pentecost) richly through Jesus Christ our Savior…
…so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope (the absolute confidence) of (the) eternal (Zoe) life.

But I say, walk by (means of God) the (Holy) Spirit (and His guidance), and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
(Pick up and ) Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes (tactics) of the devil.
