Occurs when a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ shares the gospel message with an unbeliever, relaying the “good news” concerning what the Lord Jesus Christ did for the unbeliever at the Cross. 

 

SOTERIOLOGY
The study of the salvation provided by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Step One
Get in fellowship with God so that your soul is under the control of God the Holy Spirit  

1JO 1:9
If we believers in Christ admit (name or cite) our known sins to God the Father, He is faithful (He always does the same thing) and He is righteous (free from sin Himself and thus completely qualified) to forget our known sins, and to cleanse us from our unknown sins as well.

JOH 16:8
“And He (God the Holy Spirit), when He comes, will convict (make the facts clear to) the world (all mankind) concerning sin and righteousness and judgment (the three issues of evangelism)…”

 

JOH 16:9-10
“…concerning (the) sin (of unbelief…rejection of a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ), because they (unbelievers) do not believe in Me;//and concerning (absolute) righteousness (+R as the divine standard for admission to heaven), because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me (you have to do the evangelism because I won’t be here)…”

 

JOH 16:11
“…and concerning judgment (evaluation), because the (prince) ruler of this world (Satan) has been judged (evaluated in the past).”

 

MAT 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.//For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

 

MAT 22:14
“For many are called (invited to the privilege of the narrow way…salvation), but few are chosen (only a few accept the invitation).”

 

GEN 2:7
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (neshama…the breath of lives); and man became a living being (nephesh)…

THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN

Personal sinning and a sin nature carry a price tag…spiritual death…
 
GEN 2:17
“…from the tree of the knowledge of (human) good and evil (Satan’s plan for mankind) you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die (first spiritually, and then physically).”

 

THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN

For the wages (compensation) of (having a) sin (nature) is (spiritual) death… 

 

YOU WERE WITHOUT A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

At physical birth, you had no relationship with God…
 
EPH 2:1
And you were (spiritually) dead (and living) in (the sphere of) your trespasses and sins…YOU HAVE RELATIVE RIGHTEOUSNESS (-R)


Your imperfection, your attempts at self-righteousness, your desire to “clean up your act,” your striving to get better so that God will approve of you, is not good enough to create a relationship with a perfect God…
 
ISA 64:6
For all of us have become like one (a woman) who is unclean (menstruating), and all our (self) righteous deeds are like a filthy garment (a used tampon)…

 

THE CHARACTER OF GOD DEMANDS PERFECTION


A perfect God demands perfection in His CREATURES.  If you want a relationship with God, you have to be perfect yourself.  Yet…
 
ROM 3:12
“ALL (creatures) HAVE TURNED ASIDE (from God), TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES (divine) GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE (who satisfies God’s perfect standard).”

 

YOU HAVE POSITION IN ADAM

From physical birth you are identified with Adam, the federal head of the human race, and your position in union with Him dooms you to a life of condemnation.  You aren’t perfect.
 
1CO 15:22a
For as in (union with) Adam all (mankind is set to) die (the second death)…

 

REV 20:15
And if (1) anyone’s name was not found (by the Lord Jesus Christ) written in the book of life (at the Great White Throne Judgment, and some are), he was thrown into the lake of fire.

 

MAT 13:41-42
“The Son of Man (the Lord Jesus Christ) will send forth His (elect) angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks (unbelievers), and those who commit lawlessness (non-authority oriented creatures who have thrown off the harness of authority),//and will throw them (unbelievers) into the furnace of fire; in that (literal) place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

 

2PE 3:9
The Lord (God the Father) is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness (as some accuse), but is patient toward you (unbelievers), (and is) not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about the Lord Jesus Christ). 

 

1TI 2:3-4
This is good and acceptable in the sight of (THE) God (who is) our Savior (the Lord Jesus Christ),//who desires all men to be saved and to come to the (epignosis) knowledge of the truth.
