MAT 18:1-3

Point One

REBOUND + I want to be in fellowship with God = homologeo

 

1JO 1:9

If we believers in Christ admit (name or cite…homologeo) our known sins to God the Father, He is faithful (He always does the same thing) and He is righteous (free from sin Himself and thus completely qualified) to forget our known sins, and to cleanse us from our unknown sins as well. 

 

JOH 16:13

“But when He, (God) the (Holy) Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth (of the Word of God); for He (God the Holy Spirit) will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

TIT 3:5

He (the Lord Jesus Christ) saved us, (no) not (NEVER…ouk) on the basis of deeds which we have done in (self-)righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and (by) renewing (anakainosis) by (God) the Holy Spirit…

MAT 7:7-8

“Ask, and it (a Pastor, for example) will be given to you; (keep on) seek(ing through daily biblical study, for example), and you will find (the truth); knock (use what you are learning), and it (a renewed mental attitude) will be opened to you.//For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” 

 

MAT 7:9-10

“Or what man (person) is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone (parents provide for children)?//Or if he (the son) asks for a fish, he (the parent) will not give him a snake, will he?” 

 

MAT 7:11

“If (1) you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children (and you do), how much more will your (perfect God and) Father who is in heaven give what is (divine) good (gifts) to those who ask Him!”

RECEPTION + When you teach the Word, I want to hear it = logos

 

2TI 2:15

Be diligent (study) to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling (rightly dividing) the word of truth.

But solid food (advanced doctrine) is for the mature, who because of practice (use…as if muscles in a gymnasium) have their senses trained to discern (divine) good (things honorable) and (things) evil. 

 

Point Five

RETENTION + I believe the Word of God is accurate = epignosis

 

ROM 10:2

For I (Paul) testify about them (the Jews) that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with (epignosis) knowledge (the truth believed). 

 

Point Six

RECALL + I use the Word of God under pressure = sophia

 

JAM 3:17

But the wisdom (sophia) from above is first pure, then peaceable (producing inner benefit), gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and (divine) good fruits, unwavering (impartial), without hypocrisy. 

 

Point Seven

MESSAGE + God pours the power of His supernatural knowledge into me   = pneumatikos 

 

1CO 2:15

But he who is in spiritual (condition…pneumatikos…has the spiritual discernment and) appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised (criticized) by no one. 

 

Perspicuous

Plain…distinct…intelligible…clear…lucid. 

 

JOH 17:22-23

“The glory which You (God the Father) have given Me (the Lord Jesus Christ) I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;//I in(dwell) them and You in Me (the same in essence), that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know (by visible manifestation) that You sent Me, and (that you) loved them (believers in Christ), even as You have loved Me.”
