REV 3:11

…but I (Paul) discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

 

HEB 12:1

…let us (believers in Christ) also lay aside every encumbrance (impediment to advance), and the sin (nature) which so easily entangles (ensnares) us, and let us run with endurance the race (of our lives) that is set before us.

 

Satan’s Objective with Believers in Christ

To get believers in Christ to become indifferent to God

To get you to abandon the Word of God

 

REV 2:4

‘But I (the Lord Jesus Christ) have this against you (believers at Ephesus), that you have left your first love (the Word of God).’

 

GAL 5:1

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm (n the freedom) and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

 

JOH 8:34

(The Lord) Jesus (Christ) answered them (the believer Jews), “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits (personal) sin is the slave of (the) sin (nature).”

 

ROM 8:15

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as (adult) sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

…and every (false) spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the (ones who are) “anti”Christ, of which you have heard that it is coming (in the Tribulation), and now (this persuasive influence) it is already in the world.

If (1) anyone advocates a different doctrine (and they do) and (the doctrine) does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness (the Christian Way of Life),

…he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions…
